(A letter written to Clyde Moore, Supervisor read at the October 13, 2009 Henderson Town Board Meeting by a concerned tax payer.)

A few years ago, my wife and I were looking for a special place to spend our retirement years.  We wanted it to be a beautiful community we could enjoy, which had good fishing and clear waters for swimming and snorkeling.  We found ourselves coming back time and time again to Henderson Bay.  This place on the map seemed to have it all.  The beauty of the location and the clear waters overwhelmed us, not to mention the great fishing.  This was the place we wanted to put down our roots.

Now that we own a piece of this paradise, it’s so much more.  Besides the above mentioned, we enjoy our evening drives around the countryside watching the wildlife.  It took our breath away seeing a new born fawn, just a few hours old, trying to follow its mother across one of the back roads.  It fell right in front of us, not being able to get up for several minutes to continue on.  Just sitting at night by the fire, looking up at the heavens, brings a sense of peace to oneself.

We were flabbergasted to learn what Henderson is being targeted for - wind turbine development and intrusive power lines through the township.  Please, do not allow this beautiful community to become an eyesore by allowing wind development.  The serenity and quality of life would be lost forever.

We are asking that you increase the setbacks that will make it impracticable for United Wind Energy, LLC to destroy the beauty of Henderson.
